Seka's Beauty Case @101 Darley Beauty Collective is now able to offer our clients Australia’s foremost leading and best MICRODERMASBRASION technology in our Beauty Salon in Newport on Sydney’s Northern Beaches.
ClairDerm Microdermasbasion, sometimes called the ’lunch time peel’ is a non-invasive, gentle process of using fine MEDICAL GRADE crystals accelerated onto the skin’s surface.

Everything You Wanted to Know.. What is Microdermabrasion?
Microdermabrasion is a skin-freshening technique that helps repair facial skin that has taken a beating from the sun and the effects of aging.
Or from internal biological conditions such as dietary, hormonal or excess cell proliferation, as in the case of skin allergies, acne, psoriasis or rosacea.
This relatively new procedure gently removes only the very top layers (the corneum stratum) of damaged skin by "sand blasting" them with superfine bauxite crystals. The technique exfoliates and gently resurfaces the skin, assists lymphatic drainage and promotes the formation of a healthy skin barrier. Which presents as smooth, firmer even skin tone.

Usually performed on the face and neck and Décolletage, but can be performed on any part of the body, eg, the backs of the hands.
Microdermabrasion can correct rough skin texture, some types of scarring, uneven pigmentation, and age (liver) spots.
It can also remove or improve white heads and black heads, and fine wrinkles.
Through removing superficial layers of the skin, microdermabrasion allows new skin to appear. In fact, this procedure even stimulates the growth of new skin cells.  Combine your medical grade microdermabrasion with a deluxe facial at the top beauty salon that can offer you everything your skin needs.

Clairderm Microdermabrasion provides extra skin treatment using LED light therapy which can be used post treatment and is beneficial to kill the bacteria that cause acne and also the infrared LED light that can be used pre or post treatment to rebuild the dermis for gentle skin rejuvenation and healing.

Light Emitting Diodes interact with cell receptors stimulating cell renewal, collagen and elastin production.  This coupled with microdermabasion (where the outer most layer of dead cells are removed), will give the skin a fresh, revitalized feel.

Microdermabrasion can be used for all skin types and skin tones.
Technique:
The hand piece emits Bauxite crystals, a superfine medical grade aluminium oxide, resulting in a  "polishing" process of the outer layer of the skin. The Stratum Corneum
Each treatment takes from 30 minutes to an hour. The number of treatments recommended for maximal results can range between 5 and 12, spaced from 2 to 3 weeks apart. Maintenance of results requires periodic repeat treatments after the initial regimen is completed. Microdermabrasion may be combined with a light chemical peel to increase the effect.

The Clairderm Cosmeceutical solutions provides a full range of skin care, specifically targeted to nourish and protect skin before and after treatments.

After the Treatment: A moisturiser and sunscreen is applied to your skin prior to leaving the salon. Some redness is expected after a treatment, however this is not likely to persist more than a few hours. The sensation of having a mild windburn to sunburn will also pass after a few hours. Applying a high quality moisturiser to re-hydrate the skin at this point will help. Avoid direct sun exposure for 7 days after a treatment.

We do stress the importance of using high quality sun protector product as well as minimising sun exposure. Exposure to UV radiation is one of the key factors in speeding the skin aging process. Avoid full face make-up, i.e. liquid foundations or pressed powder foundations for 24 hours after a treatment. Eye make-up, lipstick etc. may be applied immediately after a treatment.

Phototherapy Treatments

Phototherapy treatments are so gentle yet so effective, they can be combined with other treatments like microdermabrasion, it truly is the perfect way to end your treatment.  To get the most benefits and results from a phototherapy treatment, it’s important to understand what the different colours (or wavelengths) can achieve and how they achieve this.  Basically, wavelengths penetrate the skin at different depths.  The red light has the deepest penetration rate.

Phototherapy, much like microdermabrasion is not a harsh treatment, so there is no down time.  Treatments can be completed at any time and you’ll be able to return to your daily routine at the end of your treatment.  Your skin may become sensitive to sunlight and this is mostly due to cellular stimulation and activation on a deeper level.

So, what is each colour (or more correctly, wavelength) good for treating?

Blue LED Colour

- Attack current Acne outbreaks
- Soothes sebaceous glands
- Helps alleviate seasonal affective disorder

Red LED Colour
